Let's clear something up, I actually DO take trades, however, let's put it this way. If I watch you, have expressed that I adore your art either through faving it or leaving random comments, then I would totally love to do a trade with you! I also accept trades from friends..and of course those I admire, if you're on that list then you should definitely hit me up for one. By all means. If you ever get that urge for trade all like "Gee I sure would love to trade with her sometime " and I'm overloaded, that shouldn't stop you because more than likely I would be an impulsive spazz and say HOLYSHIT yes. Do it
However, If I don't watch you or anything of the sort, it still doesn't hurt to ask. Who knows! I might have never seen your art before and end up liking it and be like Oh my god why haven't I been watching you before????// I'll be honest, I am a bit picky, so no hard feelings if I decline your trade. I still love you. Very much.
